For much of Farscape the original series, Zhaan is the only person who gave Rygel any respect. Perhaps one reason for that is that Zhaan was the only one to see the vulnerable side of Rygel. For example, in this scene in PK Tech Girl.
The respect and compassion Zhaan showed to Rygel earned her his trust which she was able to draw on to help him in Self Inflicted Wounds, Part 1 (3.03).
Zhaan’s kindness helped Rygel more than everyone else’s recriminations. We all could learn a lot from Zhaan.
